VIDEO: The Perfect Treatment for Diabetes and Weight Loss
What is the perfect treatment that can cure type 2 diabetes (!) and lead to effortless weight loss? Listen to the eloquent Dr. Jason Fung describe it in this 12-minute part of a longer interview.
*** Observe: This treatment is extremely effective. If you have diabetes and take blood sugar lowering medication (especially insulin injections) you may need to reduce the doses a lot to avoid potentially dangerous hypoglycemia. You may instantly become too healthy for your medication. ***
In the full 45 minute interview Dr. Fung goes into more detail about exactly how to add fasting to your low-carb diet, important things to consider and how to avoid potential problems.
Jason Fung is a Nephrologist from Toronto and author of The Obesity Code,
Why the current way of treating diabetes and related diseases is like pumping gas into the back seat of your car.
Why you need to GET RID of the excess sugar in your body, not just in your blood. It's all about TOTAL sugar, not just blood sugar.
How eating more times per day can actually cause weight gain and contribute to disease.
Why fasting is one of the best things to add to a keto diet.
When you SHOULDN'T fast.
Diabetes is not a one-way street. You can completely reverse and cure it.

Can a person be "cured" of Type 2 Diabetes? Dr. Sarah Hallberg provides compelling evidence that it can, and the solution is simpler than you might think.
Dr. Sarah Hallberg received her Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine degree in 2002 and practiced as a primary care physician for eight years before becoming the medical director and founder of the Indiana University-Arnett Health Medical Weight Loss Program. She is board-certified by both the American Board of Obesity Medicine and the American Board of Internal Medicine. Dr. Hallberg also has a master’s degree in exercise physiology and has worked as a fitness trainer and instructor.
The Indiana University-Arnett Health Medical Weight Loss Program was created by Dr. Hallberg and in its first year has exceeded national benchmarks for weight-loss success. The program has a waiting list for new patients; people often wait weeks or months for their first consultation. The program includes a variety of nutrition plans, behavioral strategies, exercise recommendations, and counseling on cognitive restructuring, stimulus control and associated medical issues.
Her program has consistently exceeded national benchmarks for weight loss, and has been highly successful in reversing diabetes and other metabolic diseases. Dr. Hallberg is also the co-author of www.fitteru.us, a blog about health and wellness.

Jeff Volek, PhD
Professor
Department of Human Sciences, The Ohio State University
Jeff Volek, Ph.D. Dr. Jeff Volek is a registered dietitian and professor in the Department of Human Sciences at the Ohio State University. For the last two decades he has been performing cutting edge research elucidating how humans adapt to diets restricted in carbohydrate with a dual focus on clinical and performance applications. His work has contributed to the existing robust science of ketones and ketogenic diets, their use as a therapeutic tool to manage insulin resistance, plus their emerging potential to augment human performance and resiliency. This research indicates that that well formulated ketogenic diets result in substantial improvements in insulin resistance and the myriad of cardio-metabolic biomarkers associated with metabolic syndrome, including favorable changes in fatty acid composition and saturated fat metabolism, cholesterol and lipoprotein profiles. He has also performed seminal research on a wide range of dietary supplements (e.g., creatine, chromium, whey protein, caffeine, carnitine, HMB, etc.) that can augment performance and recovery. He has accumulated an enormous amount of laboratory and clinical data as it pertains to biomarker discovery and formulation of personalized, effective and sustainable low-carbohydrate diets. His team is currently exploring the role of nutritional ketosis induced by diet and/or supplements to: 1) reverse type-2 diabetes, 2) alter gut microbiota, 3) favorable impact tumor metabolism and health outcomes in women with advanced breast cancer, and 4) extend human physical and cognitive capabilities in elite athletes and military personnel. Dr. Volek has secured several million dollars in research funds from federal sources, industry, and foundations. He has been invited to lecture on his research nearly 200 times at scientific and industry conferences in a dozen countries. His scholarly work includes 300+ peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and five books, including a New York Times Best Seller.

Recorded at The Charlie Foundation’s 5th Global Symposium for Ketogenic Therapies in Banff, Alberta, Canada
Dr. Jeff Volek is a Professor in the Department of Human Sciences at The Ohio State University. A world-renowned expert in low carbohydrate research, Dr. Volek focuses on the clinical application of ketogenic diets, especially the management of insulin resistance and type-2 diabetes, as well as athletic performance and recovery. His research aims to understand individual variability including how ketogenic diets alter fatty acid composition, lipoprotein metabolism, gut microbiome, gene expression, adaptations to training and overall metabolic health. He has performed several prospective diet studies that demonstrate that well-formulated ketogenic diets result in substantial improvements in (if not complete reversal of) metabolic syndrome and type-2 diabetes. Dr. Volek has garnered over $7 million in research grants over the last 15 years, and accumulated an enormous amount of laboratory and clinical data as it pertains to biomarker discovery and formulation of personalized, effective and sustainable low carbohydrate diets. In addition to research, Dr. Volek has several initiatives aimed at translating low-carbohydrate science to the public including his role as Chief Scientist of KetoThrive Corp. He has also performed seminal work on dietary supplements including creatine, carnitine, and whey protein. He has been invited to lecture on his research more than 150 times at scientific and industry conferences in eight countries. His scholarly work includes 280 peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts and 5 books, including a New York Times Best Seller, collectively selling over 700 hundred thousand copies.

VIDEO: Ketosis - Healthy or Deadly?
Dr Greger in below video lecture is against the high fat low carb diet – and suggests a plant based diet. Because of his ideas, I offer numerous VEGAN options of as many of my yummies as I can think up. This is a doctor with a different opinion than the doctors that are enthusiastic about the Ketogenic Diet and promoting a lot of meat and dairy consumption. I present this opposing opinion also in order to keep a truly open mind and to continually be learning as much as I possibly can in order to be continually learning and improving.

Dr. Berg talks about ketosis. Ketosis is a state of fat burning. When a person is under ketosis diet plan, their bodies are make ketons. Ketons is an alternative (a cleaner) fuel source to run the body and gives the body way more energy than glucose. The primary objective of Ketosis is to lower the sugar (insulin) close to zero. Insulin is that hormone that regulates the blood sugar level in the body. The benefits of being on keto diet plan (which will be a reduction in carbs, increase in fats, moderate proteins) are that it will lower bad cholestrol, improves blood sugar, improves memory, reduce cancer, decreases inflammation. The ketosis diet plan should include healthy fats such as grass fed animal products.
Ketosis should ALWAYS be done with ALL the facts, and knowing how to handle anything that comes up. In my NEW Body Type System, we will give you that understanding. It's vital to understand the nutrition that needs to bee kept in balance, the fluid amounts, the amounts of carbs, fats and proteins, and the types of these macronutrients with regards to your body type.
The benefits of ketosis:
1. Lowers bad cholesterol
2. Increases good cholesterol
3. Improves memory
4. Stabilizes blood sugars
5. Reduces acne
6. Decreases risk of cancer
7. Decreases PCOS
8. Reduces inflammation

VIDEO: Ketogenic Diet For Cancer, Epilepsy & Diabetes With Dr. Dominic D'Agostino
Is the ketogenic diet for cancer healthy? Does it prevent epilepsy, seizures and diabetes? Dr. Dominic D'Agostino talks about the keto diet for not just preventing cancer but also treating it.
The ketogenic diet helps to stop cancer cells from using sugar to grow and even causes apoptosis (cell death) in certain instances. Dr. Dom D'Agostino and I talked also about how the ketogenic diet (high fat, moderate protein and very low sugar) helps with seizures and epilepsy and even diabetes and inflammation internally.
This was awesome. If you're unsure about if the ketogenic diet is healthy for you, listen to this show and there's a lot to learn about ketones and blood sugar and much more!
